Art Museums & Gardens

Sonoma celebrates art throughout the year with many museums, galleries, and working art studios to explore. You will find many of them around the Plaza in the center of town. Check out the Best in Sonoma Events Calendar for Sonoma Valley events featuring the arts.

Exhibits at the Sonoma Valley Museum of Art on Broadway offer works of local and national artists and sponsors lectures and workshops related to their exhibitions.

Sonoma Valley Museum of Art

AT A GLANCE: Small art museum featuring contemporary and local art.

HIGHLIGHTS: This is a really teeny museum that you can breeze through quickly. Exhibits are of variable quality but on occasion the museum hits a home run. Several hands-on workshops are held each year and often lectures are given in conjunction with exhibits.
