Walking Tours & Itineraries

Sonoma is a great place to walk as the central downtown area is flat and there is a great variety of things to see including a multitude of historic sites; beautiful homes and gardens; wide variety of stores; a bike path; and nearby wineries, cheese factory and hiking trails.

Sonoma Walking Tour

This is the quintessential walking tour of Sonoma. The walking route on this map starts at Sonoma Plaza and takes you past all six historic buildings that make-up the Sonoma Historic Park (Mission San Francisco Solano, the Presidio of Sonoma or Sonoma Barracks, the Toscano Hotel, the Blue Wing Inn, and La Casa Grande and Lachryma Montis, the homes of General Mariano Guadalupe Vallejo), plus the Vella Cheese Factory, the Patch farm stand, Sebastiani Winery and Vineyards, and the Depot Park & Museum. You can do it one-hour, if you don’t stop (but there are plenty of great stops and detours along the way). Download the complete SVVB Hike and Bike Guide here (PDF File).
