HIGHLIGHTS:   These folks really take their wine seriously!  Sit at the bar and taste quality wines from around the world. Order a full meal from their trattoria next door.

BEST FOR: Intimate experience sitting at the bar sampling wine and soaking up wine tidbits from the knowledgeable servers. While other spots roll up the carpet early each evening, locals know to come here for that last glass of wine before calling it a night. Open until 11 on weekends and 10 other days.

AT A GLANCE: When you are tired of drinking wine, this is the spot to come for an incredible selection of beer both on tap and bottled. Live music many evenings and large outdoor dining.

HIGHLIGHTS: Very large menu of beer and bar food which includes a few gluten free options. Ambience and beer are slightly better than the food. If your budget is tight catch the happy hour when it's a steal.

BEST FOR: Beer, beer and more beer. Give Pliny the Elder a try or ask the servers for their favorites. Throw in some food and live music and what more could you ask for? Happy hour Mon-Thurs. 3-6

AT A GLANCE: A comfortable pub just off Sonoma's historic Plaza with lots of indoor and sunny outdoor seating and full weekly schedule of entertainment.

HIGHLIGHTS: There is not a heck of a lot of live entertainment in Sonoma but this pub has a vibrant music lineup featuring many local bands. Match that with a couple of pints of good beer and you have a winner.  

BEST FOR: Pints of beer and entertainment, especially Trivia Night.
